Imagine a world where conflict didn’t exist and peace was a reality. In February our theme is Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution. Since its beginning, one of the cornerstones of Rotary has been world understanding and peace. As Rotarians we are united in building a better world for all the people who live here.

Each year conflict and violence displaces millions of people. Through our service projects we as Rotarians are taking action to improve people’s lives. Our projects focus on the underlying causes of conflict, having food, shelter, water, education, equality and resources.

We support programs like Youth Exchange, Global Scholars and Peace Fellowships. With each person, we are changing thoughts, ideas and the futures of people all over the world.

What are you doing in your Club or Community to promote peace? Please share your stories and we will post them on our District Facebook page. If we raise awareness, we will be a strong voice for our future.

Perhaps some day, we won’t have to imagine a world without conflict. Perhaps we can make it a reality!

On February 23, 2017, Rotary Clubs worldwide will celebrate the 112th anniversary of the first Rotary Club meeting. How are you going to celebrate this special anniversary? Will you hold an event, host a fundraiser, have a cake, post an article in the local media? Send me your photo’s and celebrations and we will post them out on Facebook. Let’s celebrate our birthday together and acknowledge the great work we do here in District 6330.

We are also celebrating the 100th anniversary of our Rotary Foundation this year. We have a District event planned with RIVP Jennifer Jones on April 22nd.
