The Rotary Club of Meaford has been busy in 2018 making Meaford a little greener. In 2018, Rotary International President Ian Riseley challenged every Rotary Club around the world to plant one tree for each of their members as a “Green Initiative”.

In response to this challenge, the Rotary Club of Meaford worked with the municipality to find the best places to plant trees, and choose the best species for the area. Trees were planted in a new section of Meaford’s Lakeview Cemetery, at David Johnston Park and at the Godfrey apartments.

“We’re so thankful to the Rotary Club of Meaford for all of the work they do in our community”, said Rod Willis, Manager of Parks and Facilities. “This was a great initiative, and those trees will be enjoyed for generations to come”.
