Celebrate the gorgeous month of May! The Sun is warming, the birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, and the garden is growing. “May” is likely named for the Roman goddess Maia, who oversaw the growth of plants.
Many clubs are posting pictures from their District 6330 Environment Day, while keeping within the Covid 19 restrictions, and some clubs are planning their event for a later date. Currently 34 events are planned or completed. Here is the link to see what your club and others near you are doing (click here to view).
Youth Service Month is a special time in Rotary. Throughout the month of May, the members of Rotary, Rotaract, Interact, those involved with Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), and Rotary Youth Exchange celebrate the opportunities that Rotary provides to connect, grow through service, develop leadership skills, mentor, be mentored, and have fun.
Although COVID may prevent some of us from celebrating Youth Service Month in person, it need not dampen our enthusiasm, excitement, and gratitude for these programs and the volunteers who make them possible.
May 11th @ 7:00 pm, our district Rotaract team is hosting Michael Angelo Caruso, an international keynote speaker, sharing his expertise with Rotaractors and other young professionals in this special, one-time-only event.
“How to Find Mentors and Retain a Network That Helps You Soar”
Youth Exchange celebrates the opportunities Rotary provides to connect, grow through service, develop leadership skills, mentor, be mentored, and have fun. Our ability to meet in person is limited now but we know that Rotary opens opportunities, always. Now is the time to get ready so that when the pandemic is behind us, Rotary’s exchange programs will come back stronger than before; serving a world that is yearning to reconnect.
June 5th we will be celebrating 50 years of Youth Exchange. Virtually connecting with past students, their families, host families, and other Rotarians, current and past, that have been part of Rotary’s Youth Exchange program.
What if that Call got you a ticket to the Best Party Ever?!
For those unfamiliar with The Rotary Foundation (TRF), TRF helps Rotarians - like us! - do great projects all over the world by providing millions of dollars in grants every year. We keep TRF going with our donations to the Annual Fund and to PolioPlus and that money comes back to us through the grant program. What most people DON’T know is that due to the pandemic, our requests for grants have more than doubled while our donations in many districts have decreased.
Around 70,000 Rotarians from Alaska, across Canada, and northern USA are invited to this party! Check out a 2.5-minute intro video at: https://vimeo.com/513498000

A mass, worldwide vaccination effort is crucial to defeating the COVID-19 pandemic — but the logistics of getting it done are incredibly complex. Two of the most complicating factors? Storage and transportation.

FIRST Prize – District People of Action Photo Competition
In 2020 the Rotary Club of Festival City was excited to win first prize in the People of Action Photo Competition. It was indeed a FUN campaign with a focus on VISION.
As part of the rules of using this prize money, the club knew that the funds must be used for a sustainable project. This left some members wondering, “what is a sustainable project?” Well Rotarian Nancy Totino, the vision behind (and skating into) the winning photo itself, proposed an idea to create a fundraising website model that would continuously fund itself and grow while allowing the club to move its efforts online.
We are only 65 days away from Saturday, June 5, when we will be celebrating 50 years of Youth Exchange in D6330! We already have over 100 registrants, but we know there are plenty more RYE alumni, host families, and Rotarians out there who have been involved in the program and want to celebrate with us! From guest speakers to fun polls to breakout rooms, this is a wonderful opportunity to see what the Rotary Youth Exchange Program in D6330 has achieved over the past 50 years, and to reconnect with past exchange students, host families, YEOs, and more!
Attend our Zone event on May 12 to celebrate, and become inspired to support The Rotary Foundation (Our Foundation). Your support is needed now - more than ever before!
Shelter is more than just a roof - it’s the foundation for life, for families, for communities, for safety. ShelterBox aid has a real and immediate impact on thousands of families who are recovering from disaster or conflict, giving them a place to call home. Find out more about our latest responses:
Ethiopia In early November 2020, escalating tension between Ethiopia’s federal government and the regional leadership in Tigray erupted into armed conflict. Working with our partner IOM, we’re supporting people who’ve fled their homes within Tigray with emergency shelter, household essentials and hygiene items. We’re also providing washbasins, soap, and water jugs, to help prevent a devastating outbreak of coronavirus.
By building on a proven concept — such as efforts to stamp out malaria in Zambia — Rotary’s new multimillion-dollar Programs of Scale grants help make good better
