Tony Sheard and Charlie Andrews shared a vision. They wanted to make the aspects of the Rotary Foundation readily understood by experienced and new Rotarians alike, so all could see how the Rotary Foundation is “Doing Good in the World”
After Tony, District 6330 Governor Elect for 2018-19, made his presentation at the Imlay City Foundation Seminar, he and Charlie agreed that most Rotarians would benefit from a visual presentation depicting the Foundation. Recognizing that most Rotary clubs meet over a meal, dining placemats became the display medium.
Now’s the time to start planning your World Polio Day event. Spread the word in your community about the ongoing fight to end polio. Together, we can — and will — make history by ending polio for good.
You can join our global celebration in many ways:
Hold a fundraiser. Consider making virtual reality a part of it so people can see what it’s like to vaccinate a child against polio.
Educate your neighbors. Talk with friends, family, and colleagues about Rotary’s work to end polio.
Hold a viewing party. Watch the livestream of Rotary’s World Polio Day event as a club or with another Rotary or Rotaract club.
Light up your city. Illuminate a local landmark with the End Polio Now logo.
No event is too big or too small. Whatever you’re planning for World Polio Day, be sure to tell usabout it.
Find resources to help you plan or promote your event at endpolio.org.
You have an opportunity to submit suggested changes to the District's Policies and Procedures document.
District Governor Nominee, and Strategic Planning Committee Chair, David Elliott is asking for submissions for suggested changes before October 26, 2018.

The Zone 28 (Zone 24 plus 5 districts from Michigan) Nominating Committee for Director met on 23 September in Montreal at the Hotel Bonaventure. We’re pleased to announce that the selection of the Committee was PDG Valarie Wafer from District 7070, now residing in District 7010 and member of the Rotary Club of Collingwood/South Georgian Bay. The Committee will report their results to the General Secretary. If there are no challenges to the selection of the Committee by the end of the challenge period (December 1, 2018) Valarie will become the Director-Nominee from Zones 28/32 and will serve a term on the Board From 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2022. The selection of the committee is not official until the completion of the challenge period and the subsequent announcement by the General Secretary.
Many of us in District 6330 have known Valerie for several years and are looking forward to her leadership as a Rotary International Director representing our Zone. Attendees at last year's District Learning Assembly & PETS in Sarnia will remember meeting Valerie as she spoke at that event.
We want to showcase the events that happened around the District this month. If you held an event that you want to share with the other Rotarians in the District, send a story with images or videos to the editor at rotary6330@gmail.com
Time to think about our Global Scholarship program during Rotary's Education and Literacy Month! Info is avail at here or send Sue Storie a message for more info. Do you know any non Rotarian scholars who have completed undergraduate studies and would like to pursue graduate level studies in one of the areas of focus? What a life changing opportunity!
