Rotary Citation (2017-2018)

Congratulations to Citation Clubs!

Rotary International Past President Ian Riseley has announced the clubs that have earned the Rotary Citation for the 2017-2018 Rotary year. I am very pleased to announce that 8 clubs in District 6330 have earned that award.
Many clubs in our district worked hard to achieve the Rotary Citation during the past Rotary year (ending June 30, 2018). Working towards earning the citation helped to strengthen many clubs in our district - whether they achieved the citation, or not, striving to reach their goals has positioned them for future success.

In addition to Ian Riseley's recognition, I want to add my personal congratulations to the following clubs that have earned the citation:

Beyond Borders - November 2018
Beyond Borders is the newsletter published by our Director - for Zones 24 & 32. This month Director Jeffry Cadorette discusses Rotary and the Rotary Foundation.

He describes his version of "Rotary 101" and how Rotary is made up of three parts. Rotary Clubs, Rotary International, and The Rotary Foundation. Together, we attempt to “create lasting change in our communities and around the world.

He continues - "Two of Rotary’s parts, Rotary Clubs and Rotary International opened the door for me to the possibility of changing the world and making it a better place. But that third one, The Rotary Foundation. That galvanized it. That sealed the deal. My support of The Rotary Foundation changed me. My involvement with the Rotary Foundation made me a better person. That is Rotary’s gift to me. That is Rotary’s potential gift for you too."

It's a good read, and the rest of the newsletter is packed full of information and ideas for every Rotarian. Read the full newsletter here.

Saving babies’ lives
(from Giving and Grants - November 2018)
Rotarians in California and Ethiopia worked together to save babies’ lives with the help of a global grant-funded vocational training team. The project was designed to address a critical shortage of hospital staff who are trained in certain lifesaving skills. Now dozens of health care providers teach classes for midwives, nurses, and medical students on resuscitation techniques and other care for newborns. LEARN MORE
