The Rotary Club of Stratford is pleased to congratulate the winners of its 2018 SHORT STORY CONTEST the awards for which were presented on Saturday afternoon at the Stratford Public Library as part of the 2018 Stratford Writers Festival.
Rotary International Past President Ian Riseley has announced the clubs that have earned the Rotary Citation for the 2017-2018 Rotary year. I am very pleased to announce that 8 clubs in District 6330 have earned that award.
Many clubs in our district worked hard to achieve the Rotary Citation during the past Rotary year (ending June 30, 2018). Working towards earning the citation helped to strengthen many clubs in our district - whether they achieved the citation, or not, striving to reach their goals has positioned them for future success.
In addition to Ian Riseley's recognition, I want to add my personal congratulations to the following clubs that have earned the citation:
Beyond Borders is the newsletter published by our Director - for Zones 24 & 32. This month Director Jeffry Cadorette discusses Rotary and the Rotary Foundation.
He describes his version of "Rotary 101" and how Rotary is made up of three parts. Rotary Clubs, Rotary International, and The Rotary Foundation. Together, we attempt to “create lasting change in our communities and around the world.
He continues - "Two of Rotary’s parts, Rotary Clubs and Rotary International opened the door for me to the possibility of changing the world and making it a better place. But that third one, The Rotary Foundation. That galvanized it. That sealed the deal. My support of The Rotary Foundation changed me. My involvement with the Rotary Foundation made me a better person. That is Rotary’s gift to me. That is Rotary’s potential gift for you too."
It's a good read, and the rest of the newsletter is packed full of information and ideas for every Rotarian. Read the full newsletter here.
We want to showcase the events that happened around the District this month. If you held an event that you want to share with the other Rotarians in the District, send a story with images or videos to the editor at rotary6330@gmail.com
