Have you considered taking your talent and skills and utilizing them in a role beyond your Club. We are looking for Rotarians who are interested in future roles at the District Level or beyond. What about chairing a District Committee, being part of the AG team, Support Membership, promoting our Rotary Foundation or being a Champion for the Eradication of Polio. We want you!
During this year we would like to hold some informal information sessions around the District to help answer your questions, assist you with your future plans and help us plan for the future Leadership in our District.
Please contact PDG Diane Chantler at dianechantler@hotmail.com to express your area of interest and your Club name. We will contact you as we schedule our information sessions.
If you have a story to tell, pictures to show off, or an event to publicize, please send it to the editor and we will publish it and/or make sure it gets on the District 6330 website.
To have your event listed, send links to published details for your upcoming events to the Editor. Your feedback, suggestions, and submissions are welcomed.
For 50 years, Rotaract has been an ever-growing partner to Rotary in our pursuit of doing good. While the program is newer to District 6330, it is one that is rapidly growing throughout our communities and around the world. And as many of you know, Rotary International President Barry Rassin has challenged each Rotary District to double the size of their Rotaract programs in the 2018-2019 year.
The Rotaract program in 6330 is young and growing, and so is already primed for an infusion of members in the coming years. But to do so, it will need support and leadership. So to promote the growth of the program, and to provide ongoing support and collaboration with our Rotaract Clubs, I am excited to announce the formation of a Provisional District Rotaract Committee. The District Rotaract Committee is composed of both Rotarians and Rotaractors, and is dedicated to ensuring that all Rotaract Clubs are provided with the support they need.
Until this year there has been an annual gathering of people in the District Governor chain - past, present, and future - something called the Zone Institute. This year, the Zone gathering has changed and is now open to all Rotarians and renamed the Zone Conference. The September 20-22 sessions in Montreal, QC will be of interest to any Rotarian looking to learn more about Rotary and be inspired to do more through Rotary.
Click the read more link for the open letter from Rotary International Director Jeffry Cadorette with details about the conference.
District Public Image Chair Kirk Langford has committed to a webinar series this year. July 26 saw the first of the series - look for more in the months to come. These webinars will be a good source of information on a variety of topics. This first one is a general introduction to the Rotary International 'My Rotary' website and how to navigate it's various features.
Our District Public Image Committee Chair Kirk Langford is preparing a series of webinars focusing on public image topics of interest to clubs. The following is a preliminary list of the webinars in the series.
Although most of the public knows our name, our latest research tells us that too many prospective members or supporters do not fully understand Rotary. They don’t know what we stand for and what we do in local communities. And nearly 60 percent of those surveyed said they were unaware that a Rotary club exists in their own community.
The People of Action campaign helps you bring Rotary’s story to life by showing Rotary members as the people of action we are. Telling our People of Action stories in a meaningful, coordinated way builds the public’s understanding of who we are and what we do. It highlights the impact we make in our communities and around the world. Learn how to tell your People of Action story and help answer the question, “What is Rotary?”
As we all know, Rotary must continuously evolve so that we may continue to attract new members, retain current ones, and come together to do good in the world.
RI President Barry Rassin has challenged clubs and Rotarians to Be the Inspiration in 2018-19. One of the ways Rassin would like to see clubs do this is by hosting a Rotary Day. Any club big or small can host a Rotary Day, and several clubs can combine to share ideas, talent, and resources. Get ideas in the July issue of Rotary Leader.
We want to showcase the events that happened around the District this month. If you held an event that you want to share with the other Rotarians in the District, send a story with images or videos to the editor at rotary6330@gmail.com
