Have You Made Your Annual Donation to Our Rotary Foundation?
Our Foundation relies on your generous donations to continue to do good in the world. There are just 2 months remaining in this Rotary year. If you haven't made your personal donation to The Rotary Foundation, take time to do that now -you can donate here. Ask your club President if your club has made it's annual donation, and if not, encourage them to do it soon.

Once every three years representatives from every one of Rotary’s 538 districts meet in Chicago to update the organization’s three constitutional documents, the RI Constitution and Bylaws and the Standard Club Constitution. The meeting is called the Council on Legislation and the most recent meeting has just completed. Changes will become operational as of 1 July, 2019.
These documents along with a Recommended Club Bylaws document prescribe how a Rotary Club operates. Clubs are free to amend the Recommended Club Bylaws to suit their own needs as long as those amendments do not conflict with the provisions of the other three documents. Therefore, clubs should periodically review and adjust their club bylaws to assure compliance.
The 2019 Council on Legislation passed enactment 19-72 to acknowledge Rotaract clubs in the RI Constitution and Bylaws and elevate them as an important member of the Rotary family. Rotaract clubs will continue to have their own standard constitution but will have greater support from RI. Our organization will benefit from this change because it broadens the definition of membership in RI to include Rotaract clubs. We will be able to learn more about Rotaractors and improve the support and resources we offer to help Rotaract grow. As Rotaractors become our partners in service, we’ll also be able to better track their impact as well as amplify our reach in communities around the world.
(submitted by Brian Hall - Rotary Club of Grand Bend)
One month ago the decision was made by Grand Bend Club’s Global Literacy committee to see if a container of dehydrated soup mix could be sent to help those struggling after Tropical Cyclone Idai struck central Mozambique March 14th . With strong support from the Grand Bend Club an appeal was presented at the April 16th District Learning Assembly for assistance from other area Clubs. The response was terrific as 8 Clubs have come forward with promises of financial support. The Rotary Club of Stratford Charitable Foundation has applied for the food aid and the shipping costs will be covered by donations from RC Stratford, RC Port Elgin, RC Goderich, RC London, RC Southampton, RC Meaford and RC Sarnia After Hours. We wish to extend a sincere thank you to these Clubs for your generosity and support. We have had donations from many individuals as well.

Hanover and Walkerton Rotarians assist in loading trailer for the Rotary Club of Grand Bend Global Literacy Project.
The Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board has been generous in donating used school desks, chairs, chalk boards, white boards, books, boxes of paper, hanging folders and miscellaneous supplies that will be part of a shipment with the Rotary Club of Grand Bend Global Literacy Project. The 53 foot trailer is not quite completely filled, but the staff at the BGCDSB headquarters will add more equipment as it is sent from school board schools. It is expected that the container will be shipped this summer to South Africa for distribution by Rotary Clubs to very needed schools in that country.
NGSE is an exciting opportunity for 18-30 year old young people to travel to another country to spend up to 3 months learning about their profession or vocation. D6330 offers opportunities to both inbounds (students coming from another country) and outbounds (students who leave here for a different country.
