DISTRICT 6330 AWARDS DESCRIPTIONS

In order to recognize growth and achievement in Rotary, the District may present the following awards at the District Conference.
 

Club Bulletins

Based upon the judgment of a Bulletin Selection Committee, especially created by the District Governor to evaluate club bulletins, two awards will be presented:  first and second place.
Criteria to be used in evaluating the weekly bulletins:
Rotary International Information,
District Information,
Local Club Information,
Format, and Overall Impression
For consideration, please email a copy of your bulletin to your DG and DGE.
 

Rotary Club Significant Achievement Award

This award will, by means of an appropriate certificate from RI, recognize club activity, which addresses a significant problem or need. The purpose of this award is to encourage new projects on the part of every club and to promote an increased awareness of the importance of exemplary club efforts.
The criteria and procedure for the district selection process shall be those set forth in the 2016 Manual of Procedure.

William G. Gansler Award
or Significant Contributions to Rotary as a Club Secretary

This award, given in honour of a former District Secretary-treasurer, may be presented to a Club Secretary for significant contributions to Rotary.  A committee, composed of the District Governor, the District Secretary, and the Assistant District Governors, may select a Club Secretary as a recipient, based on some or all of the following criteria:
  • efficient club administration
  • promptness and accuracy in reporting attendance
  • promptness and accuracy in submitting Club dues to RI and to the District
  • attendance at the District Assembly
  • attendance at the District Institute, and
  • such other district activities as may occur

The Five Avenues of Service Citation for Individual Rotarians

This citation is awarded to recognize the “grass-roots” efforts of individual Rotarians. Past District Governors (except for the immediate past governor) are eligible.

The RI Service Above Self Award

This award is given to individual Rotarians who have rendered significant humanitarian Rotary service that embodies Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.” To be eligible nominees must have previously been awarded the Five Avenues of Service Citation.

RI Public Relations Award

The RI Public Relations Award is intended as recognition for clubs and districts which demonstrate outstanding media coverage of Rotary activities in their areas and which have implemented programs, which demonstrably improved the image of Rotary in their communities.

The Rotary Foundation District Service Certificate

This certificate is awarded to those Rotarians whose service to the Foundation deserves special recognition. The District Governor, upon the advice of the District Foundation Chair, may make these awards.

The Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service

This award is made according to RI policy to a Rotarian who has, for more than one year, demonstrated active service to the programs of the Rotary Foundation.

The Rotary Foundation Distinguished Service Award

This prestigious award (the Foundation’s highest service recognition) is given for exemplary service to the Foundation and must extend beyond the district level or over an extended period of time.

Annual Giving

The club with the largest percentage increase of   SUSTAINING MEMBERS, based on the membership of April 30, 2017. The Foundation chair will do the tabulation.

Benefactors

The club with the largest percentage increase of Benefactors, based on the membership as of April 30. The Foundation chair will tabulate.

General

The first and second place club bulletin awards and the significant achievement award will remain with the winning clubs. All other award plaques (where offered) are to move annually; the name of the winning club and the year, to be inscribed thereon.
