Welcome to District 6330

Rotary isn't just a club for people to joinbut rather “an invitation to endless opportunities” are you ready to join us on the path?

“Rotary Opens Opportunities” is our current theme for 2020-21 and when Rotary International President Holger Knaack announced the theme in January, nobody could have foreseen the changes we and the world would face in the coming months.

In March, as the Covid-19 started forever affecting our lives, Rotary at all levels moved quickly into the world of electronic communications. Up until this point, we were making incremental changes in the way we did the business of Rotary, trying to lead the way without venturing too far and getting lost.

Zoom and other electronic platforms are helping transform us as we try to meet and continue to serve our local and international communities. Our District 6330 comprises of Interact, (ages 12-18) Rotaract (ages 18+) and Rotary clubs along the shores of Lake Huron and North Eastern Michigan as well we have a District Passport Club offering flexible membership and a Global Passport club that connects members in different countries offering a international membership experience!

As we change to the new future, we will remain a service organization with a goal of “doing good in the world.” But we are so much more than that. We are a leadership organization of members from the private sectors (large and small businesses) as well as government, service employees, non-profits, and people who want to make the world a better place to live.

Rotary is continuing to live up to its promise made 35 years ago, in 1985, of eradicating polio from the face of the earth. For the past several years, polio has existed in just two countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Lessons learned in reducing the incidence of polio to zero throughout most of the world are now aiding in planning vaccination efforts when a Covid-19 vaccine is found.

I’m so proud of the 70+ clubs in our District and their efforts to Grow Rotary by introducing new Rotary club models such as corporate memberships, satellite clubs, flexible meeting times, and of course, Zoom meetings. As well we are moving towards caused based clubs such as supporting veterans or helping to stop human trafficking!

Rotary creates pathways for members to improve their lives and the lives of those they help through service projects. Are you interested in hearing more or think there is a need in your community for a new type of Rotary Club experience? Let me know!
