Philanthropy Committee

The Philanthropy committee raises awareness and funds for RI philanthropic efforts. It also promotes the Flint Rotary Charitable Foundation and recommends grants from that fund. • Polio Plus- Update the Club on RI’s progress toward eliminating polio and raise public awareness of Polio Plus. • RI Foundation- Coordinate with District Foundation Chair to share info about RI Foundation and encourage giving. Make recommendations to the board on use of Club’s Paul Harris Fellow points. • Flint Rotary Charitable Foundation- Provide info about impact of the Flint Rotary Charitable Foundation. Encourage giving and highlight the Hamady Fellow program. Organize fundraising events. • Local Grantmaking- Review requests for grant funding for projects aligned with identified criteria and make funding recommendations to the board. • Scholarships- Coordinate scholarships for local young people attending local arts and educational institutions
