The Global Passport Rotary Club of District 6330 Proudly Supports Economic Impact

In the coffee fields of Quindío, women who once worked quietly behind the scenes are now helping shape family incomes, build businesses, and create new possibilities for their communities. Through the Women Coffee Growers Projects I and II, their hard work has become a source of confidence, opportunity, and lasting change.
Led by the Rotary Club of Armenia International, in partnership with local and international Rotary clubs, the projects have brought meaningful change to women coffee growers in Quindío, Colombia. Training in entrepreneurship, technology, family participation, and access to new markets has helped them strengthen family incomes, develop new skills, and create opportunities beyond the coffee fields.

One meaningful outcome is “Amor en Taza – Coffee That Embraces.” More than a coffee product, it represents the women who planted and harvested the beans, learned and worked together, and received support from their families. It carries their pride, perseverance, and hope for a better future.

Although the Global Grant projects have ended, their impact continues. The Global Passport Rotary Club of District 6330 is supporting the next phase by helping expand this economic development initiative to other coffee-growing regions of Colombia.

This is Rotary at its best—connecting people across borders so opportunity can continue to grow.

From the coffee fields of Quindío, these women have shown that when one woman receives an opportunity, the benefits reach her family, strengthen her community, and open doors for future generations.

Their coffee may be grown in Colombia, but their story reaches us all—one cup, one family, and one opportunity at a time.
